Lent: Pathways of Prayer

Churches Together in Briatain and Ireland are working in partnership with BBC Radio 4 and local radio stations for a Lent project called Pathways of Prayer. Sunday Morning Worship on R4 will cover 6 Pathways and the local stations will have material on prayer and spirituality linked to the same themes. A Group Bible Study Course is being prepared as a download and individuals will be able to explore the subject with follow up material to the programmes on the CTBI website. This is being designed for people who might not go to church: perhaps some of the 20m that Tearfund research say pray. A Press Release is on:

RUN Brian McLaren

Christian Resources Exhibition

The Heart of England Christian Resources Exhibition will be held at the International Centre, Telford Thursday to Saturday 21st- 23rd February 2008. Healthy Church Mag goes online

Philip Walker says that the Healthy Church magazine is now going to be made available as a subscription download only. This new arrangement has problems and possibilities, one of which is that it is easier to spread the word to new subscribers. Edinburgh 2010

Daryl Balia spoke yesterday at the Global Mission Network of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland about the plans for Edinburgh 2010. This world wide conference marks the centenary of the first World Missionary Conference. It will bring together study streams under the general heading of 'Witnessing to Christ Today'. Hope Resource book 2nd print run

'Paperless Christmas' Advent Calendar

Jerusalem Productions have put together 25 short videos 'to keep the rumour of God alive' in an electronic Advent Calendar called 'Paperless Christmas. Putting the crib in to Christmas

Robin Trew, a local Vicar in Coventry has fostered an unusual idea of creating conversation about Christmas, by hosting a competition for people putting lights and decorations in the garden and on the outside of the house. £100 is being offered for the best display which puts the 'Crib in to Christmas', if the decorations can depict a crib scene. Jesus in my language

Geoff Knott from Wycliffe UK has sent out a press release about a new resource which puts passages from the Gospel of Mark in to many different languages for people to read in their own heart language. The resource is part of the 2025 project in which Wyclifffe is a partner, aiming to provide a Bible translation start for every language in the world by 2025. The new resource here lists short passages of the Gospel in 70 languages. More will be added as the months go by on to:
